Police Record Check
Exit Application

Checklist

Step 1 of 15

Please review the following to ensure you have everything required before proceeding with your online application.

BE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT LEVEL OF CHECK IS REQUIRED.  RECORD CHECKS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.

You cannot apply for a record check if:

  • You are not currently residing in the City of Guelph
    • If you are not sure whether you reside in Guelph, please contact the City of Guelph
    • If you reside within Rockwood, Puslinch, Guelph-Eramosa, Fergus, Elora, or other areas outside the City of Guelph, do not apply for your record check with the Guelph Police Service. If you choose to submit an application anyway, it will be voided and no refund given
    • You can also check the following link to determine whether you reside within our jurisdiction
  • You have not been specifically requested to complete a record check by an organization
  • You are under the age of 18, unless a government organization has requested that you complete the record check
  • The purpose of this record check is for a record suspension/pardon. There is a different process to follow for this - please contact Customer Service

Your application can be processed two ways. Option One uses Equifax eIDVerifer. If successful, your record check will be mailed to you once completed. Option Two is an electronic application and in-person pick-up. Once your application has been submitted, the selected option cannot be changed.

Option One - Equifax eIDVerifer Application:

Please note that for Level 3 police checks, if the RCMP requires fingerprints, applicants must attend to the Guelph Police Service station to be fingerprinted in order for the police record check to be completed.

If fingerprinting is not required, the applicant can apply on-line and receive the results through the mail. To choose this option, select "Continue with Equifax" on Step 7 of the application process. The following criteria must be met in order for your application to be completed using the Equifax’s eIDVerifer:

  • You must have a unique email address
  • You must provide financial information to have your identity electronically verified through Equifax’s eIDVerifer. This is not a credit check and does not affect credit scores or ratings.

Option Two  - Online Application and In-Person Pick-up:

You can apply on-line but you will be required to attend in person during the hours listed below with the identification noted on the application form once the check is completed. If you would like to pick up your record check, select "Continue without Equifax" on Step 7 of this application. Your record check cannot be picked up by any individual other than yourself. Please note that for Level 3 police checks, if the RCMP requires fingerprints, applicants must attend to the Guelph Police Service station to be fingerprinted in order for the police record check to be completed.

The Guelph Police Service station is located at 15 Wyndham Street South, Guelph ON, N1H 4C6.

Pickup times are 8:00am to 3:30pm, Monday to Thursday. If you cannot attend yourself during these hours, you will need to continue with Option One.
